unfortunately those bastards
didn't leave until well into sunset. so we flew in the dark by sound. covert ops! i swear that shortly before it became truly too dark to see, and after twice crashing into two different baseball diamond backstops, i had a turn at flight that lasted through an in-control, hundred yard figure eight and back towards us (nervous-makingly) before coming to as graceful a landing as is possible for a styrofoam craft equipped with no wheels that is in the process of coming apart. very many thanks for a very fun afternoon are due to north carolinian john michael dosier, who should have been present.
but then again, we didn't go
to no ivy league schools to learn how to fly either, which is why after deciding we needed more airspace, i insisted on waiting until the great lawn was largely vacated before we could continue our mission. fast flying, out of control, strange and noisy objects are not so welcome buzzing around peoples' heads.
recovery operation: a success.
we didn't go to no ivy league schools to get outsmarted by no tree
ah, now i understand why this thing
 has such a long antenna
now what in the hell am i going to do?
gunning the motor won't shake it looks
...before he managed to get our plane stuck in a tree
you'll have to excuse the blurriness
...i was laughing too hard to stand still.
ah yes, the majesty of flight.
this was one of the few moments with eugene at the helm that was long enough for me to take a picture.
let's take a closer look, shall we?
want to see what a little styrofoam can do?
